Sporting programs
Interschool Sport
Students in Grade 5 and 6 have the opportunity to participate in interschool sporting fixtures representing North Shore State School. The fixtures students are involved in runs across three seasons throughout the year. Teams are nominated for the various sports and are coached by teachers. Students travel by bus on Thursday afternoons to various community venues to compete against other schools.
Season 1 – Netball, Rugby League
Season 2 – Tennis, Touch, Soccer
Season 3 – AFL, T-Ball, Basketball
District Trials
Eligible students have the opportunity to trial for the Townsville District in various sports. If selected they then trial for the Northern Regional team. If successful at these trials, students represent the Northern Region at the State Championships.

During the year students participate in the following carnivals:
Interhouse Swimming
Interhouse Athletics
Interschool Cross Country
From these carnivals a school team is selected to compete at the Interschool Carnivals.
Through participating in these events, students are provided with fun activities that build a sense of belonging, friendship, resilience, team spirit and school spirit.
